The Fairhope Film Series will present the film "Lemon Tree" on Friday, May 7 at 7 p.m. at the University of South Alabama in Baldwin County. Made by a Jewish director, here is a movie about the craziness of the Gaza/border. With an all-star cast from both sides of the issue, the film raises a lot of questions. (2008; Israel; 106 minutes; NR) Drama.
Films will be shown at USA Baldwin County's Performance Center at 111 St. James Avenue in Fairhope. The movie is free and open to the public, and donations are accepted. The Fairhope Film Series will present the film "Cherry Blossoms" on Friday, April 23 at 7 p.m. at the University of South Alabama in Baldwin County. A man wants everything to stay the same, but things change in this poetic dissection of family dynamics and what it means to feel alive and engaged. (Subtitle: Kirschbluten-Hanami; Germany; 2009; 127 minutes, PG-13). Family drama.

DR. DON EPLEY'S LECTURE ON THE COASTAL ECONOMY OUTLOOK |

Dr. Don Epley spoke recently about the coastal economy outlook for Baldwin and Mobile Counties. Epley, a Distinguished Professor of Real Estate and the Current Director of Mitchell College of Business Real Estate Studies at the University of South Alabama, has a Ph.D. in regional and urban economics. Epley said he thinks that they have the best data and information available. "The economic indicators give a great deal of data and information that we can use to help people make better decisions," he said. The lecture was part of USA Baldwin County's Distinguished Lecture Series. The Distinguished Lecture series will continue in the fall of 2010.
